"THERE'S SO MUCH I WANT TO SAY TO YOU."

The only photo I was able to snap of the Yayoi Kusama exhibition,
as photos were prohibited, as usual.

This was a portion of her work upon entry into the museum.
Although I have no photos to prove this exhibition's magnificence,
I was definitely more impressed than I had planned to be.

Now onto the exhibition that brought me to
the Whitney Museum of American Art in the first place:
There's so much I want to say to you - Sharon Hayes.

This work was accompanied by an audio piece, which was exceptionally moving.

A serious favorite of mine.

This exhibition was everything that I expected it to be and more. It is a politically driven exhibition that happens to be extremely emotionally moving, especially for someone, a young woman, who lives in this country out of sync with our problematic government and law enforcement. I think it was the perfect exhibition to display at this time, considering our upcoming election this November. It was a true eye-opener and I appreciate Sharon Hayes for bringing many of these conflicts and issues to our attention through her creative and empowering artwork. I left yearning more for a revolution than ever. This exhibition ends on September 9th, 2012. If you have the chance, I wholeheartedly recommend checking it out!

After experiencing the magic at the Whitney,
my dear friend Marie and I headed to the Lower East Side for dinner and drinks at Jin.

What is a day full of art without wine?

I don't eat sushi, but she definitely had her fill.

Steamed broccoli, Yakitori and Harumaki - All delicious!

I apologize for this post being so late, as these photos were taken on August 10th. I planned to post them before I left for Spain on the 16th, but had too much trouble finding the time and now with going back to school, I'm so behind and bombarded with posts! My photos from Spain will be up shortly, hopefully by this weekend before the Labor Day festivities.
Thanks for hanging in there and being patient...
Hope everyone is doing wonderful and enjoying the final days of summer!

SUMMER BREEZE.

Being blurry at Good Co.
Dinner at Fiesta Mexicana.

Quality time with the brother.
He had stitches, but wanted to swim...
We made it work.

Daria for the soul.

Dinner at Habana Outpost: Chicken tacos and (the most delicious) grilled corn.

Summer Love, in a bottle.

Ten more days until Barcelona.

Happy Hour on the porch with Momma.

Later, we picked up dinner from Aversano's:
Caprese salad & chicken florentine with penne.

Neroli Jasmin body lotion, Shea shower gel and Almond body butter from The Body Shop.
On Saturday, we decided to hit the mall before my return to the city...
I picked up some goodies from The Body Shop, Forever 21 and H&M.
It was an unexpected boost for the day, since lately, I've been downsizing my wardrobe
to make way for the new season's offerings.
Sweet new additions, so expect a small haul in the near future.

Strawberry basil, summer breeze.
On Sunday, we ventured to Far Rockaway for Tiki Disco.
I love summer.

Lunch at Ripper's... Unreal, isn't it?
Just one of my favorite drinks ever: Sangria.
The tent on the beach.

Your favorite kittens, armed with Hello Kitty bubble wands.

This started creeping up on the party around 8, but it didn't ruin any of the fun.
Free dancing in the rain on a hot summer night with happy people...
No complaints there.

Hope everybody is enjoying their summer!
Thanks for reading.
