My mum + I.

Hey, guys! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was super swell. For the weekend following my birthday, my mum decided that she and her boyfriend should visit Philadelphia with me. Everything went so perfectly and we got so much done. I had a great time. She picked me up from Brooklyn around 1PM and we hit the road, arriving in Philadelphia around 3:30, since we made some stops. My mother and her boyfriend stayed in one of the newest hotels - The Hotel Palomar. Cute hotel, nice area, friendly staff - But horrible valet. She wasn't absolutely pleased, so she's planning on staying someplace else next time. We shopped for a little while, awaiting boyfriend to leave work. Once he was home and dressed, we headed over and left for our dinner at Hibachi. I love this place - Good food and entertaining. After that, we decided to hang out at Dave & Busters for a little while. My mom got each of us so many point cards and we started hitting the games. Ray - my mother's boyfriend - Did something to one of the machines and it totally malfunctioned, resulting in handing over to us 11,000+ tickets. Could you believe that? We didn't get anything with them, though... We're waiting to rack up a few more, maybe then we can get a Wii. We woke up bright and early the following morning, meeting up with my mom and Ray for breakfast as Squared1682 - The restaurant connected to their hotel, it was decent. Afterwards, we visited the Franklin Institute, where my mom got my boyfriend and I museum memberships. I am so pleased with that, just one of the great presents my mom has awarded me with! We checked out the Hubble movie in their IMAX theater... It's playing now in select IMAX theaters everywhere, I believe and I truly recommend you go see it - It was so amazing, I can't even explain it. The next time we visit the Institute, I intend to see the Forces of Nature movie in IMAX, I bet that's just as amazing. For the rest of the day we roamed the city and shopped... Later on that evening, we decided to meet up with my boyfriend's mom at his apartment, along with one of his good friends, Erik and head over to North Bowl for some food, drinks and bowling. We had a good time. Got to chatting and hanging out, so glad that our moms finally had the chance to meet. The following morning, although it was pretty rainy and disgusting, we met up for Sunday brunch at Fork - The food was delicious. Finally, we headed over to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. We finally got the chance to view the Picasso & the Avant Garde in Paris exhibit on the last day before they closed it down after already extending it once. The last timed ticket was for 5:00, so we lucked up on grabbing those. I was impressed by how many pieces they had - From the works of Picasso to Dali to Chagall to Delaunay ... They had plenty to view and admire, it was well worth it. For dinner, we decided to have cheesesteaks, well... I had a chicken cheesesteak... From Ishkabibbles on South Street. Once we finished those up, we headed back to boyfriend's apartment, bid our good-byes and hit the road on our return to New York. All in all, the weekend was amazing. I'll be returning back to Philadelphia this Thursday for a lecture at the Mutter Museum about demon possession and exorcism. The tickets were free and the Mutter Museum is extremely entertaining, so I'm looking forward to it. I promise, I'm not a weirdo. My mom is currently planning a road trip... Originally it was going to be from NYC to Miami, Florida - Stopping in Philly, DC, Baltimore and Atlanta, but she thinks it will be too hot, so instead we're taking a Northern route. We'll be traveling up New England into Canada - Stopping mainly in Boston, probably Maine, Montreal, Toronto and finishing up in Niagara Falls. She also suggested flying to the Grand Canyon, but at this point, we all think that the road trip will be far more interesting. I bought so many things this weekend - From Urban Outfitters, Lush, Forever 21, American Apparel, the art museum gift shop and much more - I plan on sharing ASAP. For the clothing, I will be making a vlog, which I plan on making tomorrow and I believe the rest will be pictures with descriptions. I also just ordered some things from Forever 21, plus I will be ordering a blazer and some other things from Urban Outfitters - But I'll probably squeeze those into an entry for next week. I added a new look to Lookbook, so feel free to hype that using the link underneath the picture or the gadget on my sidebar. Thanks in advance. I hope you all enjoyed reading and viewing the pictures... And of course, I hope everyone had a great weekend! Ciao, babydolls.
