1. Clean your makeup brushes at least once a month with baby shampoo or mild soap, the goal is to prevent bacteria build-up. My recommendation: Sephora's daily brush cleaner, anti-bacterial formula. (14$ for a 6.75 oz. bottle).
2. The easiest way to remove red lipstick is to use a cotton ball soaked in waterproof eye-makeup remover, or you can use petroleum jelly (Vaseline).
3. Using a salicylic-acid or glycolic-acid product a few times a week can help your pores appear smaller, because it's impossible to actually "shrink" them. To get rid of blackheads, use a scrub that contains salicylic-acid or glycolic acid.
4. Blow-dry your roots in the opposite direction until the pieces lie flat to tame a cowlick.
5. Rubbing a lemon peel over your nails helps brighten them and remove dark polish stains, and always remember to use a basecoat.
6. Always apply foundation first - It evens out the skin tone, so you can see where and IF you need concealer.
7. Choosing a shade as close as possible to your natural lip color (not your skintone), so it doesn't wash you out is the key to picking the perfect nude lipstick.
8. Using a curling iron can help hide split ends in between trims. The heat temporarily smooths hair, and the "S" shape makes the frays less noticeable.
9. Do not use your face cream around your eyes if it contains salicylic or glycolic acid.
10. To even out spots and skin discoloration marks, use an exfoliating alpha-hydroxy body lotion to reveal the brighter, smoother skin underneath.
I got some of these from Cosmopolitan's September 2009 issue.
Just thought I'd share a few helpful ones, so enjoy.
Feel free to share yours and your feedback, if you've tried any of these tips.

RAMBLES.
- I'm really trying to clean and organize everything around me before school to prevent distraction. I'm doing an okay job so far. In October, I plan on getting a few new things, furniture wise. I can't wait, but of course I have to get all of this out of the way first.
- I started using Mane & Tail again, and I think I need to trim my hair. I started straightening it a lot lately and it started taking it's toll on my poor ends. I'll probably trim it and aim to train my side-bangs back before school. I also need to do that black tea hair rinse, after I get the trim, duh.
- They posted another one of my building/room #'s for one of my classes, I was too fucking excited.
- I'm trying to sell 2 textbooks that I used while I was at FIT, no textbook site will buy them back. I posted some ads on Craigslist. One book is: The World of Fashion, 3rd Edition and the other is: Business, A Changing World, 6th Edition. If anyone is interested, let me know... The prices are definitely negotiable, just contact me the best way you know how.
- I bought myself some new sheets last weekend, they made me happy. Jersey cotton sheets are my favorite, they're so comfy. I just bought a new set in Oatmeal. I'm in love.
- Boyfriend is coming to NY for Labor Day weekend, can't wait for that, it's always a good time.
- I ordered a new pair of boots that I've had my eyes on for a while. They were originally 220$ and I got them for 47$, hell yah, go me. I'll post them once they arrive, which should be tomorrow.
- Up next: I need a new bag for school. I fell in love with this Lesportsac bag, but I don't know, I'm hesitant to buy it. I'm gonna wait and see if it'll eventually go on sale by October, I'm sure it will. I have plenty of other bags to hold me over until then. I'm also in love with this pair of wooden tiki triangle hoop earrings, I want them so bad. So so bad.
- Oh and by the way... Since I know I'm still being stalked (Yes, I know, isn't this amazing?), I'd just like to say: Game over & you lose, bitch. AIM's ability to block anyone not on my buddy list > Your life. It's just sad because I know you still read my blog and there's no way for me to block you on here. I guess it's alright, though. I'm flattered that you find it necessary to indulge in my life as much as you do. I also think it's hilarious that you continuously hit me up, why do you even have my number? Do you really lack friends? You seem like you're emotionally deprived - Which clearly, you are. I guess I would be too if I have a bf who cheated on my and denied me for 3 whole years and if the only parent I had left hated me. Truth hurts, huh? I know it does, so since you're so fucking sensitive and want to call the cops because I live the life you wish you had, how about you stop stalking my shit? Don't you think that would be the best idea? I do. You look and sound like an idiot, one who really can't help the lying. Poor baby, you might want to seek some outside help because it's obvious you need somebody to talk to... Otherwise you wouldn't cry every day and then, text me for some much needed attention. ;)
- Can you guys believe this is still going on? Honestly, I'd be bored obsessing over someone's life I couldn't have by now, lol. This is the true definition of pathetic. I think I might have to change my number. :\

BOYFRIEND TAKES NY.

Friday night, my dad took us for dinner in Chinatown.
Saturday morning, we went for breakfast at
our nearby spot, the Market Diner.
Then we headed off to the American Museum of Natural History.
For dinner, we went to Cafeteria,
then met up with my mom & Ray for drinks/dessert
at her friend Shawn's place Spur Tree.
We had the most hilarious time and best
cab ride home ever, good times.
Sunday morning, boyfriend & I headed to Soho
to do a little shopping, stopping at one of my
favorite lunch spots, Cafe Bari.
I only made two purchases:
a skirt from H&M and a pair of shoes from Aldo.
I am in love with them.
The babies:
Sexy, right?
Yah, I know.
;)
It was a great weekend,
I love when he comes to NY.
I can't wait until Labor Day weekend.
FYI - Our yummy weekend spots:
Hop Lee Restaurant
@ 16 Mott Street, Chinatown, NYC.
Recommendation:
Pineapple chicken.
Cafeteria
@ 119 7th Avenue, Chelsea, NYC.
Recommendations:
Mac & Cheese spring rolls (the best),
Mac Attack mac&cheese appetizer,
Turkey burger, Fried chicken, Tomato&Basil soup,
Spicy Roasted Chicken, Chive Mashed Potatoes
& the Warm Chocolate Fallen Cake.
Spur Tree
@ 76 Orchard Street, Lower East Side, NYC.
Recommendations:
Watermelon Mojito, Mangotini,
Banana Bread Pudding & Red Stripe Beer Battered Shrimp.
(They only have a beer & wine list,
so all of their "cocktails" are made with Sake.)
The music is great, too... Nice lounge.
Cafe Bari
@ 529 Broadway, Soho, NYC.
Recommendations:
Penne Vodka, Caprese Salad,
Mini Beef Burger/Fries,
Spicy Chicken Wings &
Margherita Pizza.
Enjoy.

HAY, SCHOOLGIRL.
So I finally registered for my classes and I am ecstatic. My schedule nothing short of amazing. School starts September 9th. Here's a plus-side, too... I get to take two 3-credit courses for free during the winter session. My adviser held my spot for me, so I'm glad to have that opportunity. I made some great course selections. Honestly, there were so many good ones, it was so hard to choose. I was able to declare my major. My Associates degree will be in Fine Arts with a concentration in Art History. I plan on getting my Masters, though. So here are my classes:
- English.
- European History - From Napoleon to Hitler.
- Political Science - Women & Criminal Justice.
- Art History - The Renaissance Period.

I thought I'd write a nice little blog entry since it's been a bit. We went to Atlantic City the weekend before last, but I'm still waiting on some of the pictures, then I'll post the entry for it. We also saw The Hurt Locker that weekend, it was amazing and I suggest you go see it. This past weekend we saw (500) Days of Summer, it was so cute and interestingly funny, we liked it a lot. We watched Watchmen last Friday night, it wasn't all that great, so eh. I finally get to register for my classes tomorrow, I'm super excited and can't wait. This weekend Boobie is coming to NY, instead of me going to Philly. I'm taking him to the Museum of Natural History... Only one of the best museums ever, I know he's gonna love it so I can't wait! I'm trying to find a new spot we could possibly have dinner at, but no luck just yet. Any suggestions? Maybe we'll go to a spot we've already been to or maybe I'll just bring him to Mancora or Cafeteria, since I've never taken him to either. I've been looking for some fall boots, but I'm not having any luck finding any that I love enough to buy. I figured I'd just get my black boots that I'm in love with re-soled because they're in pretty bad shape, but they're so awesome... And fixable, so why not mend something I already love? I baked some delicious oatmeal raisin cookies last week, they came out good. I think I might try some more recipes from allrecipes.com. Pretty helpful. Alright, that's about it for now. Hope you're all doing well, baby dolls. :)
