Sidenote: I have pictures from this weekend.
We went to Atlantic City and whatnot.
I'm just waiting for my boyfriend's mommy
to upload and send the rest,
so keep your eyes open.

TURKEY BURGERS.

My 2009 summer favorite.
Ground turkey seasoned with Adobo and Mrs. Dash.

One pack of turkey made me 10 burgers.
I ate one and froze 9.
They came out so good and perfect.
Yum.

THE FRESHMAN... 25?

Um, no.

Key point:
Gaining 25 pounds and using the "freshman" excuse is disgusting.
You should be ashamed of yourself... Especially since you didn't dorm, at all.

I know that school is about to begin sometime soon for us all and I'd just like to shed some light on a little something called the "Freshman 15". Now, I am not a freshman, I have a year and a half under my belt. I started off majoring in psychology at Saint John's University, did a semester at FIT for fashion design then, decided to take sewing classes at Sew Fast, Sew Easy - the school recommended and credited by Project Runway. When I return this fall I will be achieving a Masters in art history (Yes, education is key... I have one, now worry about your own). Now, when I dormed for my freshman year of college, I didn't gain a pound. Ladies, you do not have to fall into a nasty slump and put on those pounds - This goes out to those who both dorm and commute. You don't have to resort to eating hot pockets and cup o' noodles every morning and night. Campuses have gyms available to the students. Don't use the stress as an excuse to eat. It's sickening. Eat as healthy as you can, keep up with your daily cardio - which you can maintain by simply walking and look for outlets to relieve stress. A good suggestion is taking a break from your studies and maybe joining an on-campus yoga class/group. Ladies, learn from the mistakes of those who disgustingly made them before you. Maintain your beautiful appearances, remain healthy and still make those grades. Good luck!

TIP.

Make sure you always clean your make-up brushes every once in a while.
If you don't, you're more prone to breaking out
because of the germs that collect over time.
Major pore cloggage, ew.
I decided to clean these 2 last night because I haven't cleaned them
in a while... All of my other babies are up to par.
The one on the left is a Sephora brand and the one on the
right is Benefit (one of my favorite lines).
Screw Mac because their make-up is shit.
(Except their eyeshadow, which I don't even wear
and I honestly prefer Urban Decay's eyeshadow over theirs, anyway)
They definitely don't top NARS, Chanel, Benefit and Bare Escentuals.
Sephora has a lot to offer,
so if you strictly shop at Mac and think you're doing a good job,
you're truly missing out.
To clean them I also use Sephora's Daily Brush Cleaner.
It's anti-bacterial and works wonders with warm water.
Flatten and let air-dry for about 24 hours.

TRY THIS BEFORE SUMMER ENDS.

Chocolate & Coconut Frozen Banana Popsicles.
Serves 6 people.

What you'll need:
-3 large bananas, peeled & cut in half.
-6 oz. of semi-sweet or milk chocolate, chopped.
-1/3 cup of unsweetened shredded coconut, toasted.
-6 popsicle sticks.

What to do:
1. Stick a popsicle stick into each banana half, leaving a good amount of the stick poking out.
2. Transfer bananas to a parchment paper-lined sheet tray and freeze until solid (30 to 45 minutes).
3. Microwave chocolate in a medium bowl, stirring every 20 to 30 seconds, until chocolate is completely melted. It should take 1 to 2 minutes. (You can also melt the chocolate in a double boiler - as long as you know what you're doing. Microwaving would probably be easier if you've never melted chocolate before.)
4. Transfer shredded coconut into a wide, shallow dish and remove the bananas from the freezer.
5.
Working with one banana half at a time, spoon some of the melted chocolate over the banana and work your way into smothering the banana with the melted chocolate. Whichever way works best for you is fine.
6. Over the coconut's dish, sprinkle some coconut on the banana, allowing the remaining coconut to fall back into the dish.
7. Return halves to the baking sheet and put back into the freezer until the chocolate is set - About 10 to 20 minutes.

This recipe was taken from Whole Foods' website.
Enjoy.

MAKING MY DAY.

Urban Outfitters definitely just did that. They're having this HUGE under 10$ sale, especially for women. The stuff they have is so cute, they even have some fall things. I also picked up a special surprise for a certain someone, I'm not saying. You guys better go attack it before everyone else gets to it. I had filled my cart up this morning and was contemplating on a few things I had put in it... By the time I went to checkout, two of the items were already out of stock. Luckily, everything else wasn't and I still got some great steals. Don't miss out! Anyways, I'm never getting black nail polish on my toes again... When they chip, even the slightest little chip, it's so obvious and driving me nutso. Taco night was great, just as expected. We made turkey tacos with Mexican cheese, tomatoes and lettuce. I was a little upset about my guacamole ordeal, though. I had been anticipating trying the traditional guacamole that Whole Foods offers, but on Friday when I went to get some, they were all out! They always have it every other time I'm in there. They even had it in there the next day, but it was too late. After Whole Foods didn't have it, we went to Pathmark and I settled for this other brand... It was so awful, ugh. Never again. Whole Foods did make up for it with their organic lemonade, though. They sell these bottles of lemonade, they're only 99 cents each! This weekend we went through 5, I think. It's so good and cheap, so that makes it even better. Well, that's about all for now. :)

WHY?

Why must this bag always look like this?
I mean, really...
That isn't even everything I need.
I can't even zip this bag when I use it.
Everything is always spilling out...
But it's still sexy.

& I know I'm not the only lady with this problem.
This must be why huge bags became the "in" thing.

Lots of love for Balenciaga, though.
Always.

Okay so, there's a class that I need to take in August for 2 weeks... Well, actually it's only Monday through Thursday for two weeks, but it's from 9 AM to 3:45 PM! How ridiculous is that?! But it's free and I might as well take it, it'll save me from taking a creditless course during the actual semester. Oh well. I'm about to clean out my closet AGAIN. I know, I do this so often... But I just feel like I have so many things that I don't wear that other people could get a lot of use out of. I'm always shopping and I'm shopping for the fall in a few weeks, I think I can get rid of a few more things, it won't kill me. I have to paint my nails and get a pedicure tomorrow. I think I'm going to do my toenails black, I just feel like it. My mom is checking Intermixx this weekend to see if they could specially order these shoes that I'm going oh so insane over. I hope that they can. My mommy is the best. :) We're supposed to be going to Italy and Greece for two weeks next summer, so I asked what about Paris? My boyfriend and I have been planning on going there for a long time. She said she'll take me there for my birthday, we can't wait. We've been anticipating it for so long. Europe = The best vacations ever. I mean, I want to travel everywhere, but Italy and Paris have always been at the top of my list. I'm so excited. It's really hot today, I should have gone to the beach... But what beach? Rockaway is the only tolerable one. Every other NY beach is disgusting... Well, besides Jones beach but that's way far. I have been craving Mexican food every day now for like, 3 weeks. I've always liked it, but come on. There's this restaurant that we passed once in Philly called El Vez, it looks good and sounds it too, according to the menu. I'd like to go there... Or this other place my boyfriend mentioned that he says he heard was good. I hope I get to have some Mexican food this weekend, even if we get to make tacos and guacamole ourselves. It's more fun that way, too. Fin for now.

IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING...

This is what I meant.
Not the one in the middle, the clavicle.
Yay or nay?

WEEKEND.

K, bye.

Hey guys, how was your weekend? Mine was lovely, nice weather and I had a pretty relaxing time. This week I need to get around to doing this black tea hair soak. I hate when my hair gets lighter during the summer. It's probably best if I wait until the end of summer, lol. That would probably make a little more sense. I used this Essie nail polish in Perky Purple, I don't recommend it. I wasn't aware that it goes on matte... Who wants to wear matte nail polish? It looked like purple chalk until I piled on 3 layers of top coat. Ugh, not nice. There's this new blue OPI, though and it looks like it'll be a bit more successful. I also feel like doing my toes black this week. I think I shall. So, I've been wanting to get something new pierced for a while and I think I might want to get my right clavicle done. I know that it's going to hurt even though I take piercings/tattoos well, and I know that the healing process is going to be major hell. So I don't know if it's worth it considering it's such a difficult spot... I also don't want it to scar when I decide to take it out in the future. Opinions from anyone who's had it done? Nothing new really going on besides this. I'm sleepy and lazy. I think I'm done for the night. Ciao, babydolls.

NEED.

Very badly.

7.08.2009

The bitch following my blog "anonymously", I know who you are.
And my suggestion to you is to get a life of your own and "die slow".

Just saying.

RECENTS.

So, yesterday (7/7) was my grandmother's 85th birthday.
Just thought I'd put that out there.
:)

My Hello Kitty band-aids are the best.
(Thank you, Neesha).
And the best nail polish evar.
My mom just got me Essie's Perky Purple.
I can't wait to use it this week.
So awesome.

I ran out of Q-tips, so I went to pick up some more.
Why not get some pink ones?
They also had purple, blue and green.
Yay for Target.

My newest body wash.
Softsoap Body Butter Coconut Scrub.
Perfect for summer.

Soap & Glory is the best brand EVER.
Target is the only store that carries their products.
This is their Heel Genius Foot Mask.
It works wonders, trust me.
I also recommend their The Righteous Butter body butter
and their Clean on Me body wash.

Yay for Cosmopolitan.
Katy Perry? Not so much of a fan,
but I didn't mind the article on her too much.

FUNFETTI.

Today, Neesha & I were hanging out.
I promised that I'd make dinner and Funfetti
cake for her, since her birthday is coming up
and her schedule is pretty much jam packed.
I made chicken cutlets, mac & cheese and salad.
And our favorite - Funfetti cake.

Our documentation:

The farthest picture we got of dinner is
the beginning of the cutlets because we were just
too hungry to waste time on taking pictures.

See?

But here's a video for your enjoyment:

And as you can also see,
I'm sticking to my list of things I'm trying to do this summer
and I have not one bit of make-up on.
Nothing.
:)
